The CEO, Mark Zuckerberg, had previously stated that the new feature will make technology more helpful and accessible for everyone. While releasing this new feature, the company said, “We want to build technology that helps the blind community experience Facebook the same way others enjoy it.”
This feat has been accomplished using the combination of artificial intelligence and screen readers. The feature that is known as automatic alternative text, will describe every aspect of the photo- from scenery to a person eating chocolate for instance using object recognition technology.
