The Indian Railways have been developing themselves quite impressively in the last few years under Suresh Prabhu’s guidance. Apart from grievances being addressed almost immediately, to bringing in new trains that are efficient and economically affordable, they have yet again come up with an innovative project that will help us save a lot more than just money.
The Railways have come up with a train that’s completely fitted with solar panels on the roof. By May end, the train will go through its first trial in Jodhpur.

The Indian Railways plans to save approximately Rs 82 lakh per train per year by using alternate sources of energy and plans to meet 10% of its total energy requirements through renewable energy by 2020.
Apart from the new coaches, Shan-e-punjab and Taj express will too have these panels installed soon.
